Paws for Hope Hosts Free Animal Health Clinic in New Westminster

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Paws for Hope Hosts Free Animal Health Clinic in New Westminster
Providing vital care to pets from low-income households

New Westminster, BC – September 12, 2025 – Paws for Hope Animal Foundation is proud to announce a free animal health clinic on Sunday, September 14, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at St. Barnabas Church (1010 5th Avenue, New Westminster).

This fully booked clinic will provide wellness exams, vaccines, parasite control, and minor grooming services for pets living in low-income households. The event reflects Paws for Hope’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that loved pets can remain with the families who cherish them, regardless of financial hardship.

“Our clinics are more than just a one-day event,” said Kathy Powelson, Executive Director of Paws for Hope Animal Foundation. “We know that pets need ongoing support, so we also provide follow-up care for the animals we see—support that can cost between $10,000 and $15,000 annually. This commitment makes our clinics truly unique and impactful in the community.”

By addressing both immediate health needs and longer-term care, Paws for Hope ensures that vulnerable families are not forced to choose between financial security and the wellbeing of their pets.

This clinic is part of a series of community-based initiatives led by Paws for Hope Animal Foundation to support animal welfare and strengthen the human-animal bond across British Columbia.
